Years in the planning stages, the remodeling of the Uptown Theatre in Minneapolis is finally going to happen. Starting January 31, the theater will be closed for an as-yet undetermined period of time. Local management declined to comment for publication but, when it reopens, there will be new seats (not those ripped, saggy ones people have been complaining about for years), a new screen, digital projection and a slightly different seating arrangement.
